You want enemies to attack you while your squad mates hit them with their biotic or tech powers. If you can get yourself positioned in front of your squad-mates so you draw the fire. Spray each wave with your assault rifle of choice-after the Collector Base, or on second play-through, I prefer the M-76 though if this is your first play-through you may be stuck with the M-8 or M-96 if you've purchased the Firepower Pack DLC. For those scenarios where enemies come in waves, set your companions to opposite cover points and then set yourself up in the middle. The sniper rifle and shotgun work as complements to the all-important M-76 Revenant or M-96 Mattock Assault Rifles. To get through (especially on Insane difficulty) the key is accuracy, cover, using the right gun, and misdirection.
That said the game can be a little more challenging at times when you lack the biotic powers.
I like the story of ME more than anything, and for me Shepard just seems to be a biotic-less solider. Mass Effect 2 Carrying this over from ME1: Sheppard is a Solider and Shock Trooperįor me Shepard is better as a solider.
